Warm-up in five minutes

Winter in Ontario is long, and indoor soccer keeps the season going. A short, consistent kit makes match night easier and helps you avoid injuries.

Match bag
✓Indoor or turf shoes that grip the surface
✓Shin guards that fit under your socks
✓Two shirts: light and dark
✓Spare socks
✓Water, at least 500 ml
✓Warm layer for the walk to and from the car
✓Small towel

Warm-up in five minutes

1
Light jog
Two minutes around the court.
2
Dynamic stretches
Leg swings and hip openers.
3
Passing pairs
Short passes, then driven passes.
4
Quick sprints
Three short efforts to wake up the legs.
5
Shooting
A few shots on goal so the keeper warms up too.
Recovery
Hydrate, stretch your calves and hamstrings, and plan a rest day between hard weeks. The Canadian 24-Hour Movement Guidelines suggest adults aim for at least 150 minutes of moderate-to-vigorous activity per week.
